![]() The Light RoadsterThe Light Roadster is a bike designed for the bicycle commuter, utilizing the construction of a modern road bike with the elegant style of a 1940's French delivery bike. When equipped with the D-Rack the Light Roadster is the perfect combination of style and function. The Light Roadster is a single drivetrain bike and can be built for single speed fixed or freewheel, internally geared hubs and derailleur.
The feature that truly defines the Light Roadster is that it is a level top tube bike, built around the long reach sidepull brake and skinnier road type wheels. Utilizing this brake gives the road style function, but with just enough clearance for a fender and a slightly wider tire of 28mm [standard road bike uses a 23mm]. The Light Roadster is custom made to your specification for fit and function and tailor made to your needs. I construct these bicycles one at a time and can fit them with all the accoutrements that one might need to make their daily commute more pleasing. Most of the bikes pictures are level top tube 700c wheel bikes, however I can also build the bike with a slight up slope top tube [to get the bars up higher] and can also build around smaller wheel sizes of 26” [best for people under 5’6”] and 20 1/8” [for children and small people]. I can also provide frames built as a step through [Mixte style frame]. All of my bicycles are constructed of Columbus steel tubing and the joints are TIG welded together [Not lugged or Fillet brazed]. My most popular design is the Columbus ZONA Nivicrom tube frame with a Thron straight bladed uni-crown fork. I also offer an additional option of a brazed flat fork crown with curved blades, brazed head tube rings and diamond shaped bottle re-enforcements.
