Spring 2008 Newsletter

Spring has finally started in New England :) I had a very nice ride to work today and I am really looking forward to my commute now that the foul weather is pretty much on its way out.

Betsy and I just got back from a trip to Anaheim, CA (business trip for Betsy).  Of course we brought our folding bikes and I spent a day biking to the ocean and back.  We also wowed the other 8500 conference participants when we rode our bikes to a social event at Knotts Berry Farm while they all took buses there!  We were very impressed with how bike friendly Anaheim is, wide sidewalks every where!

Currently, we are getting ready for our annual spring events beginning with the Redbones "Bike to Work Week" kick off party and fund raiser [Monday, May 19th]. ANT is the co-sponsor and we will, again, be raffling off a Basket/Cargo bike.

On June 8, we will be at the Bikes Not Bombs bike-a-thon and "Green Roots Festival".  The list of events could go on and on! I would love to attend every one of them, but of course we can not do that! Here are two that I think many would find interesting: Maker Faire and NYC Bicycle Film Festival street party.

NAHBS was a very exciting event this year and ANT was interviewed by many blogs, bike news websites and print publications. The publicity of ANT has skyrocketed and while it has taken up a lot of my time, it has been very good for our shop and for the building enthusiasm of commuter bicycles.
We had our bikes featured in Urban Velo, Fixed Gear Gallery and many Flicker photo albums.
I was interviewed by Cycloculture and Momentum Magazine [for May issue] and just got a glowing review in Velo Vision.  I will also be featured in Boneshaker Magazine.

I am working on some new bikes that I will be offering in the near future. I have convinced a few people in my building queue to take on the new bike designs.  I will then photograph these bikes and use these images to re-build the website and my offerings for ANT. I can not go into too much detail right now, but in the coming months the changes will be laid out. Please stay in touch with this page and the new blog [that I hope people are able to use and enjoy].

Sincerely, Mike and Betsy
